Unpacking The Nurse’s Role in Delegation vs. Assignment in Upcoming Webinar
I'm excited to announce that I'll be leading a free webinar with the American Assisted Living Nurses Association on September 20th on the nuances within nursing environments, and what facilities can do to stay abreast of legal system surrounding healthcare.
Below you can find a synopsis of the webinar and the areas that I'll be covering.
Health care is continuously changing, including the roles and responsibilities of licensed health care providers and assistive personnel. When certain aspects of nursing care need to be delegated beyond the traditional role and assignments of a care provider, it is imperative that the delegation process and the state Nurse Practice Act (NPA) be clearly understood so that it is safely and effectively carried out. This webinar will explain the differences between assignment and delegation, and the responsibilities of the employer, nurse leader, delegating nurse, and delegatee. An overview of the National Guidelines for Nursing Delegation will also be discussed.
This webinar will be led by Rebecca Adelman, who has over 25 years of experience practicing insurance defense litigation with a specialty in healthcare law. She is a member of the Claims & Management Litigation Alliance, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, and serves as Legal Advisor for the American Assisted Living Nurses Association.
Please note that this webinar is for AALNA members only.
